Work experience A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or the global equivalent) with at least 5 years of project management experience OR A four-year degree (bachelor’s degree or the global equivalent) and at least 3 years of project management experience  
Knowledge area experience 5 years experience as a project manager and log from 4,500 to 7,500 hours of direct work on projects  
Professional development 35 Hrs  
General education Professionals must possess a high school diploma or GED and an associate degree. At this education level, applicants must have 5 years of project management experience prior to qualifying for the PMP exam. If a project management professional acquires a bachelor degree, the experience prerequisite is only 3 years of project management work.
